Qingdao (青岛, Qīngdǎo) is one of China's most charming coastal cities — a place where German colonial architecture, golden beaches, and world-famous beer create a unique blend of East and West.

Why Visit Qingdao?

Tsingtao Beer was founded here by German brewers in 1903. The city still has beautiful German buildings, and every August the International Beer Festival is one of China's biggest parties. Add golden beaches, fresh seafood, and a relaxed coastal vibe, and you have one of China's most livable cities.

Top Attractions

Zhanqiao Pier (栈桥) — Qingdao's most famous landmark — a 440-meter pier extending into the sea with a pavilion at the end. The views of the bay are spectacular.

Badaguan Scenic Area (八大关) — A beautiful residential area with 200+ villas in European styles — German, British, French, and Spanish. The area is especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves change.

Tsingtao Beer Museum (青岛啤酒博物馆) — Learn the history of China's most famous beer and taste fresh brews straight from the factory.

Laoshan Mountain (崂山) — A Taoist sacred mountain on the coast with stunning views of the sea. The mountain is famous for its spring water and tea.

Golden Sand Beach (金沙滩) — One of China's best beaches — 3.5km of golden sand and clear water on the western shore of Jiaozhou Bay.
