Badaguan Scenic Area (八大关)

Badaguan Scenic Area (八大关, Bā Dà Guān) is Qingdao's most elegant neighborhood — a garden district where over 200 European-style villas are hidden among ancient trees.

What to See

The Villas — Over 200 villas in German, British, French, and Spanish styles. Each villa has a unique design — no two are alike. Some are now museums or boutique hotels.

The Trees — The area is famous for its trees — ginkgo, maple, and plane trees line the streets. In autumn, the leaves turn gold and red, creating a stunning contrast with the European architecture.

Second Beach (第二海水浴场) — A small, hidden beach within Badaguan. The water is clear and the sand is golden — less crowded than the main beaches.

Hua石楼 (花石楼) — The most famous villa in Badaguan — a German-style stone building with a tower overlooking the sea. Now a museum.
