Window of the World (世界之窗, Shìjiè zhī Chuāng) is a 48-hectare theme park of miniature world landmarks — and it sits in Shenzhen, not Zhuhai. The mix-up is the classic Pearl River Delta gotcha, and plenty of listing sites get it wrong. Good news: the real park is only a 60-minute ferry from Zhuhai, and it works as a one-day round trip.
Inside the gates, 130-plus replicas of the Eiffel Tower (108 m, 1:3 scale, with an elevator), Egypt's Pyramids, the Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, Sydney Opera House, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and a Manhattan skyline spread across eight zones: World Plaza, the five continents, a Sculpture Garden and International Street. It is model-village kitsch rather than real history — come for the absurd photo ops, then stay for the 7:30 PM "Grand Epoch" (盛世纪, Shèng Shìjì) show on the 360° Global Stage and the Eiffel Tower replica lit up after dark.
Getting there from Zhuhai. Take the ferry from Jiuzhou Port (九洲港) to Shenzhen's Shekou Port — about 60 minutes, economy ≈¥140 ($19) each way, with sailings roughly every 30–60 minutes through the day. From Shekou, Metro Line 2 reaches the "Window of the World" station (世界之窗站) in about 15 minutes.
Tickets. Full-day ¥220 ($30), half-price ¥110 ($15) for children 1.2–1.5 m and seniors 65+, night ticket ¥100 ($14) from 6 PM. Open daily ~9 AM–9:30 PM (last entry 9 PM). Buy online to skip the gate queue; the ticket is checked against your passport or ID. Skip weekends — this is Shenzhen's most-visited park.
Practical tips
- The park is in Shenzhen, not Zhuhai - don't slot it into a Zhuhai walking day. Best plan: take an early ferry from Jiuzhou Port (九洲港) to Shenzhen's Shekou Port (~60 min, economy ≈¥140 / $19), then Metro Line 2 to the 'Window of the World' station. Check the last return sailing before you commit - final boats back to Zhuhai leave around 9 PM. The ¥100 ($14) night ticket (entry from 6 PM) covers the lit-up Eiffel Tower plus the 7:30 PM Grand Epoch show. Half-price ¥110 ($15) applies to children 1.2-1.5 m and seniors 65+; under-1.2 m free. Buy online (Klook, Trip.com or the official WeChat mini-program) and keep your passport handy - the ticket is tied to your ID. Weekdays are far quieter than weekends. Food inside is standard pricey theme-park fare; eat before you go.
