Hengqin Portuguese-Style Street — officially Lijun Pangdu Plaza (励骏庞都广场, Lìjùn Pángdū Guǎngchǎng), known in English as Ponto Legend — is a Portuguese-style shopping complex in Zhuhai's Hengqin New Area, directly opposite the Macau border. Opened in December 2019 and designed by Macau architect Carlos Marreiros (马若龙), it revives the ornate Manueline style of 16th-century Portugal: carved off-white stone, rope-twisted mouldings, domes and roundels inspired by Macau's Senado Square. For free, it's the easiest "Europe afternoon" in the Pearl River Delta.
What to see. The complex itself is the attraction. Stroll the fountain square, then the upper-floor colonnades — continuous arches that frame portrait shots like a picture-in-picture. Hunt the details: armillary spheres, sea-rope carvings, azulejo-style tiles, and the spiral staircase. Shops, a supermarket and a cinema fill the lower floors.
Best time. Dusk. Arrive 30 minutes before sunset, then stay for blue hour — the facade lights come on around 7 PM in summer and 6:30 PM in winter, turning the white stone warm against a dark-blue sky. Weekday evenings are quiet; weekends fill with wedding-photo shoots.
Facts. Free entry; daily 10 AM–10 PM (until 10:30 PM weekends); allow 1–2 hours. From Macau's Hengqin Port it's a five-minute walk; from Hengqin Station on the Zhuji Intercity Railway (珠机城际), a similar distance. A taxi from downtown Zhuhai takes about 30 minutes.
Honest note. The food inside is chain snacks and milk tea at mall prices (¥40–80 / $6–11 a meal) — average. Eat at Hengqin Central Street nearby, or back in Zhuhai proper for seafood. Unless you're already in Hengqin or crossing from Macau, skip the special trip from downtown.

- Go on a weekday evening: arrive 30 minutes before sunset, then catch the facade lights flick on (~7 PM summer, ~6:30 PM winter) for blue hour. Weekends draw wedding-photo shoots — expect crowds and queues for the best arches. Some upper-floor indoor areas close early; the exterior, fountain square and ground-floor corridors stay open. It's a photo spot, not a destination — skip it unless you're already in Hengqin or crossing from Macau via Hengqin Port. Food inside is chain snacks and milk tea at mall prices; eat at Hengqin Central Street (横琴中央汇) nearby or back downtown. For the classic shot, stand on the central axis of the main square with a phone wide-angle (0.5x) mode.
