Erqi Pagoda (二七纪念塔) is Zhengzhou's most recognizable landmark, a twin-tower pagoda built in 1971 to commemorate the 1923 Erqi Strike (二七大罢工) — a historic labor movement led by Communist organizers.
What to See
The pagoda stands 63 meters tall with an observation deck on the upper level offering 360-degree views of Zhengzhou. The interior contains exhibits about the history of the labor movement and the development of the city.
The surrounding Erqi Square is Zhengzhou's busiest public space, especially lively in the evening when locals gather to socialize and watch the illuminated pagoda.
Metro Line 1 or 3 to Erqi Square station. Walking distance from most city center hotels.
