Baotu Spring (趵突泉) is the most famous of Jinan's 72 springs and has been flowing for over 2,700 years. Three powerful jets of water burst from the ground into a crystal-clear pool, creating a mesmerizing display.
The spring water maintains a constant temperature of 18°C (64°F) year-round. The pool below is so clear you can see the spring vents at the bottom. The surrounding garden features traditional Chinese pavilions, walkways, and stone inscriptions from various dynasties.
Metro Line 3 to Baotu Spring station. Walking distance from city center.
Practical tips
- Visit in the morning when the spring is most active. The park also contains a museum of Jinan springs.
