Yangshuo (阳朔) sits at the foot of dramatic karst peaks along the Li River, creating one of the most photogenic landscapes in China. The town has been a backpacker magnet for decades, with a vibrant West Street, excellent cycling routes, and easy access to Li River activities.

Getting There
- From Guilin: 1 hour by bus, ¥30 ($4) or 1.5 hours by Li River cruise
