What to See

The Walk — The full circuit is 7km — a 2-hour walk along the top of the walls. The views of the grey-tiled rooftops stretching to the horizon are unforgettable.

The Watchtowers — 72 watchtowers along the walls — each with a different design. The towers offer panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.

The Gates — 6 gates in the walls — the South Gate is the most impressive, with a grand archway and defensive towers.

The History — The walls were built in 1370 AD — over 600 years ago. They've survived earthquakes, wars, and the passage of time.
