Confucius Temple (夫子庙)

Confucius Temple (夫子庙, Fūzǐ Miào) is Nanjing's most lively district — a bustling area of shops, restaurants, and teahouses along the Qinhuai River.

What to See

The Temple — A small but beautiful temple dedicated to Confucius. The courtyard is peaceful, with ancient trees and stone tablets.

Qinhuai River (秦淮河) — Take a boat ride along the river and see the illuminated buildings reflected in the water. The night views are magical.

Night Market — Dozens of food stalls sell Nanjing specialties: salted duck, duck blood soup, and osmanthus rice cakes. The smells are irresistible.

Lantern Festival — During the Lantern Festival (15th day of the first lunar month), the area is decorated with thousands of colorful lanterns.
