The Leshan Giant Buddha (乐山大佛) is the world's largest stone Buddha, standing 71 meters tall at the confluence of the Min, Dadu, and Qingyi rivers. Carving began in 713 AD and took 90 years to complete.
The Experience
Cliff walk - Descend a narrow stairway carved into the cliff face, passing the Buddha's enormous ears, nose, and fingers before reaching its feet at river level.
River view - Take a boat on the river for a full frontal view of the Buddha in its cliff-face setting.
Lingyun Temple - A Buddhist temple above the Buddha with incense-filled halls.
