Mount Emei (峨眉山) is one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains, rising 3,099 meters above Sichuan. The mountain is famous for its ancient temples, dramatic scenery, and population of bold sacred monkeys.
What to See
Golden Summit (金顶) - A Buddhist temple complex at 3,077 meters with a giant bronze Samantabhadra statue. On clear days, you can see the snow-capped Gongga Mountain.
Wannian Temple (万年寺) - An ancient temple housing a rare iron Su Ping Buddhist statue.
Sacred monkeys - Hundreds of macaques roam the mountain paths. They are bold and will snatch food.

- Take the cable car to save time. The Golden Summit at sunrise is unforgettable. Watch for monkeys - they steal food.
